Accompanying him are his three friends: Derek, who recently divorced and is looking to relive his glory days; Jason, who loves telling jokes when intoxicated; and Seth, the anxious intellectual always out of his element. Almost instantly the group gets embroiled into one ludicrous scenario after another such as receiving lap dances all the way to mistakenly attending addiction meetings.
During the duration of said weekend, Todd systematically tries everything including but not limited to temptations with gorgeous women while ensuring awkward situations test his willpower further. One elaborate scheme includes Ron almost cheating on Melinda only emerging from it due to sheer will power combined with overcoming succumbing due should be falling in love. On the other end of things, Melinda’s party in Cleveland feels dull in comparison lacking excitement despite her growing suspicion that Todd is up to something nasty indicating his involvement in these events.
Regardless of the many temptations he is faced with, Ron ultimately stands firmly against them. His loyalty once untangled proves to be ironclad as he dodges a weekend that was designed to ruin him and still gets back in time for the wedding. Todd, coming to terms with reality accepts the fact that Ron is indeed a fitting partner for his sister.
