Synopsis

The ‘Others’ are not just aimlessly destructive, they are calculating and possess a multitude of ways to decimate the world and it’s defenseless dwellers. The first wave cuts down on the solid and liquid modern technologies, which throws the human civilization in a state of disarray. The second wave is targeted on the natural elements and brings about a downfall in which the climate and humans are fearful of the world themselves. The primary focus of the third wave is the population control by diseases, which feeds on the sick and dying. The fourth wave is mired in suspicion, where the ‘Others’ (who are camouflaged as humans) breed treachery amongst the survivors. At this point, the incited schism amongst the surviving humans is destructive to say the least. In these stages, survival is requisite, bearing in mind the uncertainty of humanity’s future and the constantly thinning prospects.
The narrative centers on a teenage girl, ‘s life, like many other girls her age, which was simple until the day ‘s entire life was thrown into chaos. Losing the life she once loved, she now has to protect her younger brother, Sam, who gets lost during an evacuation. With a fierce determination, she embarks on a desperate attempt to locate and rescue him and encounter many challenges, friends, and enemies.
While searching for him, Cassie meets Evan Walker, a young man with an enigmatic air who provides her with assistance. Though she is unsure she can rely on him, Evan is a pivotal character on her journey. Simultaneously, her high school crush, Cassie, now known as Ben parish, gets enlisted into a military school that trains children to fight ‘The Others’. The combine encounter as the situation gets more desperate.
In the pretense of the fifth wave, Cassie and other characters have no route left but to discover the truth and a method to save their loved ones. In the midst of all this, however, they must never lose the glimmer of hope they have left, no matter how broken and deceitful the world is.
