Introduction

The episode “Lord Snow” is the third 1 of Game of Thrones’ Season 1 . It first aired on the 1st of May in 2011. The creators of the show Benioff and Weiss were responsible for this episode along with Brian Kirk who directed it. This story expands the coverage moving King’s landing and castle black while developing further on the relationships and politics from the previous episodes. Finally, “Lord Snow” relates to Jon Snow’s nickname given by Ser Alliser Thorne which depicts how Jon is an outsider but also a noble.

Plot Summary

At the Wall

Castle Black marks the start of Jon Snow’s storyline as a Night’s Watch recruit where he begins his training at Wall. During combat practice,his agility with swords makes him outshine most recruits To make matters worse. Ser Alliser Thorne insults him due to his name calling him “Lord Snow”. Though initially isolating himself later motivates himself to help his fellow recruits during skirmish. In turn this improves their fighting skills leading to mutual respect and friendship between both parties alongside strong bond building endurance partly stemming from sustained struggle.While journeying with Jon, Tyrion Lannister takes in all of the realities pertaining to life at the Wall. He begins to get along with some of the members of the Night’s Watch and especially Lord Commander Jeor Mormont and Maester Aemon, who encourage him to bring more men and resources from the Crown for the Wall. As rumors asserting that looming dangers exist beyond the Wall surge, it becomes increasingly important for Tyrion to address their issues.

In King’s Landing

Accompanied by his daughters Arya and Sansa, Ned Stark makes his entrance into the capital. Upon entering Red Keep, he runs into Jaime Lannister sitting near Iron Throne. There is palpable tension in their conversation as Jaime speaks about his betrayal of Mad King during Robert’s Rebellion which conflictively shapes Uncle Ned’s take on honor and loyalty stemming from Jaime’s disdainful actions towards killing regal figures within honorable families.

Catelyn Stark arrives incognito in King’s Landing and meets Littlefinger and Varys at one of Littlefinger’s brothels. She presents the dagger used in the attempted assassination of Bran. Littlefinger makes deepening claims that Tyrion Lannister owned the blade which intensifies Catelyn’s suspicion on the Lannisters and leads Ned Stark to be more guarded in his court dealings.

In Winterfell

Bran stark has woken up from his coma but is paralyzed below his waist. He struggles emotionally with acceptance over coming to terms with how much he cannot walk, causing him stress while shouting somberly in anger of what he now must deal with for life ahead. Robb supportly placing a hand on Bran helps him feels less alone during this process, but Theon Greyjoy’s lack compassion adds tension highlighting these divided trends within Stark family dynamics

In the Dothraki Sea

Daenerys Targaryen’s didoes adapt to her newfound status as a khaleesi within Dothraki society. She is now confirmed pregnant, and her confidence continues to grow. Viserys in a fit of anger threatening her sets him up to be intervened on by one of Drogo’s blood riders who goes so far as to almost kill him. Daenerys begins asserting herself as she commands viserys to show her proper respect marking a turning point in their relationship: rather than remaining passive sister, she has become queen in her own right.
